Why your feet hurt
A warm boot should not cost you your toes
Where you feel it, and what your shoes have to do with it.
-
When your feet are tilted all day, everything above them adjusts to compensate.
In ArcticYou keep a natural stance on the trail. -
A raised heel tips you forward, and your knees absorb what your feet cannot.
In ArcticNo hard shape pressing on one spot all day. -
A stiff sole stops your foot bending, so the work travels up into your lower legs.
In ArcticYour foot moves instead of being held still. -
Your toes are held in a point all day, so the widest part of your foot carries the pressure.
In ArcticYour toes splay even over thick winter socks.
Nothing pressing, nothing tilting, nothing stopping your foot moving.
What you get with Arctic
Winter warmth without giving up the shape of your foot
Warmth that wraps the whole foot
A long plush fleece lining runs right through the boot, with an exposed plush collar at the ankle. The windproof build then holds that heat in.
Thick socks and room for your toes
The front keeps a wide five toe barefoot shape rather than narrowing. You can wear winter socks and your toes still splay.
Steady footing on snow and rock
A segmented lugged outsole with deep irregular tread and cut grooves. A reinforced toe cap takes the knocks from rocky ground.
Wet snow and rain run off
The upper is water repellent faux suede with Oxford fabric. It sheds rain and wet snow, though it is not built for standing in deep water.
Set the tension exactly where you want it
Laces let you pull it tighter over the instep for a steep descent and looser over thick socks. A one setting fit cannot do that.
Real winter cover at around 0.75 kg
The pair weighs roughly 0.75 kg, so it protects without the bulk that tires you out. The Oxford shell also resists scuffs on rough trails.

Why it works
What Arctic actually does for your feet
Warm all the way round, not just underneath
A long plush fleece lining wraps the foot like a soft carpet, with an exposed plush collar at the ankle where cold usually creeps in. The windproof build then stops the drafts that pull that heat back out.
Your toes still splay, even in winter socks
The front keeps the five toe barefoot shape instead of narrowing the way a winter boot usually does. You get thick socks and room for your toes at the same time.
Sure footing on snow and rock
A segmented lugged outsole with deep irregular tread and cut grooves. It bites into snow, ice and rocky ground rather than skating over it, and a reinforced toe cap takes the knocks.
Why this pair
Arctic next to a standard winter boot
The weight
You do not wear your boots. You lift them, about 7,000 times a day.
Every step is a small lift you never agreed to. A normal winter boot is a few ounces heavier than Arctic. Multiply those few ounces by seven thousand and it stops being a spec on a page.
Put your own sneaker on a kitchen scale and type the number in. The maths is yours, not ours.
Weight you stop lifting, every day
0 lb
Based on one shoe lifted per step, at 7,000 steps a day.
Fit and anatomy
Shaped like a foot, not a wedge
Put your foot on the insole. Your toes should sit inside the outline with room to spread.
It gives where your foot needs it to.
Room across the front, even over thick winter socks.
- Foot shapedtoe box, room to splay
- Zero dropheel and toe sit level
- True to sizeelastic laces, nothing to tie
Questions
Arctic questions, answered
How warm are the Arctic boots?
Made for serious cold. The thick moisture wicking fleece lining keeps you warm while pulling dampness away, and the high top quilted ankle collar seals in heat, so these handle deep winter days well.
Are they waterproof or water resistant?
These are fully waterproof. The quilted synthetic upper has sealed seams that lock out snow, slush and rain, making them a strong pick for wet, snowy conditions.
How is the traction on snow and ice?
The flexible anti slip rubber sole uses a deep tread that grips packed snow and icy pavement for confident footing. It performs well in winter, though we still suggest care on pure glare ice.
Are these really barefoot boots?
Yes. Arctic is zero drop with a wide anatomical toe box and a flexible sole, so your toes can splay and your foot bends naturally. You get full waterproof, high top warmth without losing the barefoot feel.
What size should I order with thick socks?
They fit true to size for most people. If you wear thick winter socks, or you are between sizes or have wider feet, size up a half size for extra room. Women and men have separate sizing, chosen with the Women and Men buttons at the top of the page.
How do I care for the upper and fleece lining?
Wipe the quilted waterproof upper with a damp cloth and let the boots air dry away from direct heat to protect the sealed seams. Air out the moisture wicking fleece lining between wears and never machine dry them.
What is your return policy?
You have a 30 day money back guarantee. If they are not right for you, return them within 30 days for a full refund. We ship to the US and CA.
