Why your feet hurt

Your shoes have been working against your feet

Where you feel it, and what your shoes have to do with it.

  1. When your feet are tilted all day, everything above them adjusts to compensate.

In CascadeYour weight spreads across the whole foot instead of the ball.

Nothing pressing, nothing tilting, nothing stopping your foot moving.

What you get with Cascade

One pair that works wet, dry and all the way home

1

Walk out of the water without squelching

Drainage holes in the sole let water run straight out instead of pooling inside. You are not carrying half the lake back to the car in each shoe.

2

Wet at noon, dry by the afternoon

Quick drying fabric instead of soaked canvas or leather. They are ready to wear again the same day, so one pair covers the whole trip.

3

Grip you can trust on wet rock

A non slip rubber outsole made for slick surfaces. You can put your foot down on a mossy stone or a pool edge and commit to the step.

4

On and off in about two seconds

One pull on the bungee toggle cinches them, and they slip off just as fast. That matters when you go in and out of the water all afternoon.

5

They pack flat and weigh almost nothing

The body twists and folds without losing its shape, so they cost you almost no room in a beach bag or a carry on. There is a reflective strip at the heel for early starts.

6

Room across the front, level underfoot

A wide barefoot toe box so your toes splay and steady you, and no raised heel tipping you forward. It is why they stay comfortable long after you have left the water.

Why it works

What Cascade actually does for your feet

Your toes finally have room

The front is shaped like a foot instead of tapering to a point, so your toes splay and spread. That is what keeps your balance steady on wet rock and takes the pressure off through a long day.

You stand level, not tipped forward

There is no raised heel. Front and back sit on one plane, so your weight spreads across the whole foot instead of being pushed onto the ball. It is how you stand barefoot on your own floor.

Wet one minute, dry the next

Quick drying fabric plus drainage holes in the bottom. Water flows straight out instead of pooling inside, so you are not squelching your way back from the water with a shoe full of it.

The weight

You do not wear your shoes. You lift them, about 7,000 times a day.

Every step is a small lift you never agreed to. A normal sneaker is a few ounces heavier than Cascade. Multiply those few ounces by seven thousand and it stops being a spec on a page.

Put your own sneaker on a kitchen scale and type the number in. The maths is yours, not ours.

It gives where your foot needs it to.

  • Zero dropheel and toe sit level
  • True to sizeelastic laces, nothing to tie

What to expect

The first two weeks

Wear them all day on day one and your calves will punish you for it. That is why most people give up in week one. So here is the fortnight, laid out.

  1. Day one, wearing the Cascade indoors on a wooden floor

    Day 1 to 3

    A couple of hours

    Wear them round the house.

    Your calves will grumble. Good.

  2. Stepping out of the front door in the Cascade for a short errand

    Day 4 to 7

    Half a day

    Add a short walk.

They start to feel like your own shoes.

  3. Sitting outside in the Cascade after a walk by the water

    Day 8 to 14

    Most of the day

Take them near water one afternoon.

You feel the ground for the first time.

  4. Walking easily along a path in the Cascade

    Day 15 on

    All day, every day

    Wear them everywhere.

You stop thinking about your feet.

Day one is the day the box arrives.

Questions

Cascade questions, answered

How should I pick my size in the Cascade?

Most people fit their normal size. Barefoot shoes can run slightly short, so if you are between sizes or have wider feet, going up half a size is the common call. Women and men have separate sizing, switched with the Women and Men buttons at the top.

What are the Cascade made of and what are they best for?

The upper is a breathable, quick dry mesh built for warm weather and light water. They are a great everyday pick for hot days, quick errands, and running around town.

What does the zero drop, 3mm sole feel like?

Your heel and toes sit on the same level, and the ultra thin 3mm sole lets you feel the ground under you. It feels close to walking barefoot, just with a layer of protection.

Do the Cascade need breaking in?

Not much. The upper is soft from day one. If you are new to barefoot shoes, ease in over a week or two so your feet adjust to the thin, flexible sole.

How do I clean the mesh upper?

Wipe with a damp cloth for everyday dirt. For a deeper clean, hand wash in cool water with mild soap and air dry away from direct heat. The quick dry mesh dries fast.

Are the women's and men's Cascade different?

Same design and same benefits. They are sized separately for women and men, so switch between the Women and Men buttons at the top to see the right fit for you.

What is your return policy?

You get a 30 day money back guarantee. If they are not right for you, reach out within 30 days for a full refund. We ship to the US and CA.
