How do the Sage sneakers fit and which size should I pick?

They fit true to size for most people. Barefoot shoes can run slightly short, so if you are between sizes or have wider feet, we suggest going up half a size. These use US Women's and US Men's sizing, switched with the Women and Men buttons at the top of the page.

What are the Sage made of and when are they best worn?

They have a breathable mesh upper over an enhanced 5mm protective sole. Think everyday casual wear when you want a little more underfoot than a super thin sole, from errands to long days on your feet.

What does zero drop feel like if I have never worn barefoot shoes?

Zero drop means your heel and toes sit at the same level, so you stand and walk in a natural posture. Most people feel more grounded quickly. The 5mm sole softens that first impression, which makes Sage a comfortable place to start.

Is there a break in period?

Not much. The mesh is soft from day one. We suggest wearing them a few hours at a time for the first week so your feet ease into the flatter, roomier feel.

How do I clean the mesh upper?

Brush off loose dirt, then wipe the mesh with a damp cloth and a little mild soap. Let them air dry away from direct heat. Skip the dryer so the mesh keeps its shape.

Is there a difference between the women's and men's version?

Same design and features. The difference is the sizing scale. Women choose from US Women's sizes and men from US Men's sizes using the buttons at the top of the page.
