Why your feet hurt
Your shoes have been working against your feet
Where you feel it, and what your shoes have to do with it.
-
When your feet are tilted all day, everything above them adjusts to compensate.
In the StrideLevel footing lets the rest of you sit where it naturally would. -
A raised heel tips you forward, and your knees absorb what your feet cannot.
In the StrideFlat from heel to toe, so you stand level the way you do barefoot. -
A stiff sole stops your foot bending, so the work travels up into your lower legs.
In the StrideA 4 mm sole bends with every step, so your foot does its own work. -
Your toes are held in a point all day, so the widest part of your foot carries the pressure.
In the StrideA foot shaped toe box lets your toes spread and sit flat.
Nothing pressing, nothing tilting, nothing stopping your foot moving.
Why it works
What the Stride actually does for your feet
Your toes sit where they should
Shaped like a foot, widest across the toes. Nothing pressing them into a point.
You stand level, not tipped
Flat from heel to toe, so your weight sits where it does barefoot.
Your foot actually bends
A 4 mm sole moves with every step instead of holding your foot rigid.
Side by side
Stride against the shoes you wear now
01 · The sole
You feel the ground again
A 4 mm sole bends with your foot instead of blocking it. Thick foam mutes everything and your foot stops working.
Where are your feet right now?
Then leave the insole in and forget it is there
You get through the school run, the shop floor, the tile kitchen at 6pm, and your feet are not counting the minutes. Your toes are spread the whole time. Nothing squeezes the side of your foot.
This is where most people spend their first two weeks, and plenty never take the insole out at all.
- Soft layer in
- Still flat, still zero drop
- Concrete and tile
Then lift it out and there is nothing left in the way
Two seconds, no tools. Now it is your foot, thin rubber, and the pavement. You feel the grass give under your heel and the gravel move. Your feet start doing the work they were built to do, on the day you decide they are ready.
Most people reach for this somewhere around week three. There is no rush, and nothing goes wrong if you never do.
- Soft layer out
- Bare rubber underfoot
- Grass, gravel, walks
By the way, your heel and your toe sit at the same height.
02 · The upper
Nothing digs in across the widest part
One piece of knit stretches with your foot. No stitched panel pressing a line where your toes are widest.
Run a finger inside the shoe you have on now, along the toes. That ridge has been there all day.
Sewn panels
One piece knit03 · The weight
Less to lift, every single step
Lighter shoes mean less work on every stride. Over a day of walking that adds up. A normal sneaker is a few ounces heavier than the Stride, and you lift it about 7,000 times a day.
Put your own sneaker on a kitchen scale and type the number in. The maths is yours, not ours.
Weight you stop lifting, every day
0 lb
Based on one shoe lifted per step, at 7,000 steps a day.
Fit and anatomy
Shaped like a foot, not a wedge
Put your foot on the insole. Your toes should sit inside the outline with room to spread.
It gives where your foot needs it to.
One piece of knit with no seam across the top. It stretches around a wide foot, a high instep, or a spot that is sore today, instead of pressing a stitched line into it.
- Foot shapedwidest at the toes
- 0 mmheel drop

Questions
What people ask before buying
How do I pick my size?
Stride fits true to size for most people, so order your usual sneaker size. If you are between sizes or have a wide foot, size up by half. Women and men are built on different lasts, so use the Women or Men switch at the top of the page first.
What are they made of?
A one piece breathable knit upper that feels sock like, on a thin 4 mm sole with a chevron tread. The toe box is wide and foot shaped, so your toes have room to spread.
Will they hurt at first?
Your feet should feel roomy straight away. Your calves are the part that needs time, because they finally get to work. Start with a few hours a day and build up over two weeks. Keep the insole in while you do.
How do I clean them?
Wipe them with a damp cloth for everyday marks. For a deeper clean, machine wash cold on a gentle cycle, take the insoles out first, and let everything air dry. Skip the dryer.
I am on my feet all day. Will these actually help?
That is who they are built for. Standing all day in a narrow shoe with a raised heel keeps your toes squeezed and your weight pushed onto the ball of your foot. These take all three of those away. Most people notice the difference in the first week, and the roomy front is usually what they notice first.
My feet are wide. Will they fit?
The toe box is foot shaped rather than tapered, so there is real room across the front. If you are between sizes or your feet are on the wider side, size up by half. If the fit is not right you have 30 days to send them back for a full refund.
Can I wear these all day, or only for short walks?
All day, once you are through the first two weeks. Keep the insole in for long days on concrete or tile. Take it out when you want more ground feel. One pair covers both.
What if they do not work for me?
Wear them for 30 days. If they are not the most comfortable shoes you own, send them back for a full refund. You keep the risk on us, not on you.
Will they look like orthopaedic shoes?
No. There are no logos and no bulky shaping, just a clean knit upper on a thin sole. They read as ordinary everyday sneakers, which is the point.
What if they are not for me?
Wear them for 30 days. If they are not the most comfortable shoes you own, send them back for a full refund.
