Why your feet hurt
A shoe for everything usually does nothing well
Tap a spot to see why it hurts.
-
When your feet are tilted all day, everything above them adjusts to compensate.
In SummitYou feel the ground and stand in a natural posture. -
A raised heel tips you forward, and your knees absorb what your feet cannot.
In SummitNo hard shape pressing on one spot all day. -
A stiff sole stops your foot bending, so the work travels up into your lower legs.
In SummitYour feet and calves work naturally and tire more slowly. -
Your toes are held in a point all day, so the widest part of your foot carries the pressure.
In SummitYour toes spread naturally, the way they do barefoot.
Nothing pressing. Nothing tilting.

Questions
Summit questions, answered
How do I choose my Summit size?
Most people fit true to size. Because barefoot shoes can run slightly short and feet swell on long climbs, size up half a size if you are between sizes, have wider feet, or hike all day. Women use US Women's sizing and men use US Men's sizing, set with the buttons at the top of the page.
What kind of hiking are the Summit made for?
They are rugged hiking shoes for technical trails, steep ascents and descents. A breathable athletic mesh upper pairs with a protective 5mm lugged sole and a reinforced toe guard for rocky, uneven terrain.
What does the reinforced toe guard do?
It is a tougher panel over the front of the shoe that protects your toes when you kick rocks or scramble over stone. Your toes still get the room of a wide toe box, just with extra defense up front.
Will I still feel the ground on a zero drop hiking shoe?
Yes. The zero drop trail platform keeps you level and connected to the terrain, so you feel the trail and adjust your footing naturally. The 5mm lugged sole adds grip and protection without a raised heel.
How do I care for them after rough hikes?
Let dried mud crumble off, then brush the lugs and toe guard clean. Wipe the mesh with a damp cloth and mild soap and rinse the sole. Air dry them out of direct heat so the mesh and toe guard hold their shape.
Is there a difference between the women's and men's Summit?
They share the same rugged build, tread and toe guard. Only the sizing scale differs. Choose Women or Men at the top of the page for your sizes.
