Why your feet hurt

Your shoes have been working against your feet

Where you feel it, and what your shoes have to do with it.

  1. When your feet are tilted all day, everything above them adjusts to compensate.

In WaveYour weight spreads across the whole foot instead of the ball.

Nothing pressing, nothing tilting, nothing stopping your foot moving.

What you get with Wave

Six things you will notice in the first week

1

On and off in about two seconds

Elastic lacing with a quick lock toggle. One pull and they are on, nothing to tie, nothing coming undone halfway through a walk.

2

Easy to get on when bending down is not

The opening is wide and stretches, so you are not wrestling with them on a stiff morning or balancing on one leg in the hallway.

3

Wear them with bare feet

Cotton lining sits soft against skin and air passes straight through the mesh, so they stay cool and dry through a full day instead of turning clammy by lunch.

4

Machine washable

When they get grubby they go in the wash and air dry. No scrubbing by hand, no writing off the pair after one muddy walk.

5

Order your usual size

They fit true to size in six colours, from the everyday neutrals to something brighter. No sizing up, no guesswork about the fit.

6

One pair covers the whole day

Light enough for travel and long walks, steady enough for the gym, plain enough for work. Work, walking, gym, driving and everything between, out of one pair.

The barefoot part

What being barefoot shaped actually does

Overhead view of the Wave showing its wide foot shaped toe box

Your toes finally have room

The front is shaped like a foot instead of tapering to a point. Your toes spread into their own shape rather than being squeezed together, which takes the pressure off the ball of your foot on a long day.

Side view of the Wave showing its level zero drop sole

You stand level, not tipped forward

There is no raised heel. Front and back sit on one plane, so your weight spreads across the whole foot instead of being pushed onto the ball. It is how you stand barefoot on your own floor, kept there all day.

Three quarter view of the Wave showing its flexible rubber sole

Your foot moves instead of being held still

The sole bends with your foot rather than splinting it flat. Your feet and calves do their own work again, which is what they are built for.

The weight

You do not wear your shoes. You lift them, about 7,000 times a day.

Every step is a small lift you never agreed to. A normal sneaker is a few ounces heavier than Wave. Multiply those few ounces by seven thousand and it stops being a spec on a page.

Put your own sneaker on a kitchen scale and type the number in. The maths is yours, not ours.

Fit and anatomy

Shaped like a foot, not a wedge

Put your foot on the insole. Your toes should sit inside the outline with room to spread.

It gives where your foot needs it to.

Room across the front, so nothing squeezes your toes together.

  • Foot shapedtoe box, room to splay
  • Zero dropheel and toe sit level
  • True to sizeslip on, no laces to tie

What to expect

The first two weeks

Wear them all day on day one and your calves will punish you for it. That is why most people give up in week one. So here is the fortnight, laid out.

  1. Day one, wearing the Wave indoors on a wooden floor

    Day 1 to 3

    A couple of hours

    Wear them round the house.

    Your calves will grumble. Good.

  2. Stepping out of the front door in the Wave for a short errand

    Day 4 to 7

    Half a day

    Add a short walk.

They start to feel like your own shoes.

  3. Sitting on a park bench in the Wave after a longer walk

    Day 8 to 14

    Most of the day

Take them out on grass one afternoon.

You feel the ground for the first time.

  4. Walking easily along a path in the Wave

    Day 15 on

    All day, every day

    Wear them everywhere.

You stop thinking about your feet.

Day one is the day the box arrives.

Questions

Wave questions, answered

How should I size the Wave?

Fit true to size for most people. Barefoot shoes can run a touch short, so if you are between sizes or have wider feet, size up half a size. Women and men are sized separately, switched with the Women and Men buttons at the top.

What makes the Wave good for water?

They are built amphibious. The perforated upper drains and dries quickly, the sole grips when wet, and they rinse clean after. Great for beach, boat, kayaking, and wet trails.

Can I wear them on dry land too?

Yes. The design works wet or dry, so you can wear them for the walk to the water and everything after, not just in it.

What does the barefoot, zero drop feel like in the Wave?

Heel and toes sit level, and the wide anatomical toe box lets your toes spread and grip. It feels natural and secure, even on slippery surfaces.

How do I clean and dry them after use?

Rinse with fresh water to clear sand and salt, then air dry away from direct heat. The perforated upper drains and dries fast on its own.

Are the women's and men's Wave different?

Same water ready design and benefits. Sizing is separate for women and men, so use the Women and Men buttons at the top to find your fit.

What is your return policy?

There is a 30 day money back guarantee. Not the right fit? Reach out within 30 days for a full refund. We ship to the US and CA.
